The MDI Guatemala teaching staff is made up of an extensive roster of experts who work in the public sector, private sector and at the university itself and who lecture at one or more MDI campuses. Some are MDI alumni who now hold prominent positions at sector players.

Javier Catón Oteiza is director of finance at Clickalia. An architecture graduate from Madrid’s Polytechnic University (UPM), Javier has worked as senior manager at EY, managing partner at Nearby and manager in Deloitte’s real estate department, which he joined from CBRE, where he specialised in due diligence, the preparation and review of business plans and the valuation of property management firms. He is specialised in transaction and financing advisory in the commercial real estate space, having advised on the buy side and sell side on shopping centre deals worth over €2 billion on aggregate, as well as on over €1 billion of financing transactions.

Alba Díaz de Cerio Sánchez runs her own real estate marketing consultancy firm, AD Real Estate. A graduate in journalism from Madrid’s Rey Juan Carlos University, Alba formerly worked as director of marketing at aREa Real Estate, a company specialised in online marketing in the real estate space. She is a founding partner of WIRES (Women in Real Estate Spain), an association whose mission is to organise events in the Spanish real estate sector to highlight the role of women, and has participated actively in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Spain.
Alba Díaz de Cerio Sánchez runs her own real estate marketing consultancy firm, AD Real Estate. Silvia has worked in both the public and private sectors, taught at a number of universities and produced scientific research and publications around urban planning issues.

Gema Ramírez Pacheco is a professor in the school of architecture (ETSAM) of Madrid's Polytechnic University (UPM). Gema holds a PhD and degree in architectural technology from UPM and has extensive experience teaching and researching in the area of real estate valuations and economic analysis of the building process. She has worked as an associate professor at Alicante University, Universidad Europea and Católica San Antonio University in Murcia and she works with a number of organisations and institutions in the area of valuation training. She also has professional experience in the valuation and appraisal fields, having worked at several important appraisal firms, including CBRE, TINSA, JLL, IBERTASA and EUROVAL, and at consultancies such as AURA REE.
